Kotara Family Practice is open 6 days a week.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday:     8.30am to 5.30pm

Thursday:     8.30am - 8.30pm

Saturday:    8.30am to 4.00pm

Sunday:     CLOSED

Public Holidays:     CLOSED

Emergency Care

At any time during the day or night, if you require urgent or emergency medical assistance you should always call 000 and ask for an ambulance or go directly to your nearest hospital emergency department.

After Hours Care

If you have a less urgent need for medical care outside of our opening hours (including evenings, weekends and public holidays) please contact:

The GP Access After Hours Service offers appointments at one of the many GP Access After Hours clinics in the Newcastle Region. The doctor you see will send a consultation summary to your usual GP who will be able to follow-up with you, as needed.

If you are unsure if you need to see a doctor, you can contact the Health Direct 24-hour triage hotline to speak with a registered nurse who will be able to offer you advice about any health concern you may have. The Health Direct advice line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
